Meet the Judges: Tara

One of the Judges for CupcakeCampDC 2010 is Tara, the DC-area representative for Yelp, a website that connects people to great local businesses. She is an active part of the Yelp community, and tweets under @YelpDC. She's excited to be part of DC's very first Cupcake Camp and is prepared to sample every tasty bundle of cakey goodness she needs to for the champion to prevail!

Tell us a little about yourself

I am the DC Community Manager for Yelp.com. In my spare time...wait a minute, I have no spare time! If I had spare time, I would spend it blowing bubbles, hula hooping, thumbing through pop up books, sucking the icing out of Twinkies and having West Side Story inspired dance offs in the streets of DC.

What is your favorite type of cupcake?

Red velvet with cream cheese icing *swoon*

If you had to describe yourself as a cupcake, how would you?

Made with fresh, high quality ingredients topped generously with free flowing, whipped icing and topped with a few delicate, asymmetrical sprinkles.

What is your favorite local cupcake place?

Best all around - Baked and Wired.

What is it about cupcakes that you like?

The range of creativity and fun you can have with them! You can create an entire batch of delicious cupcakes with each one touting very different aesthetics.
